IBM
Strategic technology partner — AI (AS300) and Quantum ComputingEnterprise AI and quantum computing partner
IBM is a strategic partner of Aperta Scientia on two distinct and forward-looking technology domains: enterprise AI and quantum computing. On the AI side, the partnership focuses on the Granite family of open-source large language models and the watsonx enterprise AI platform, which form a central component of the AS300 AI Platform Engineer curriculum. On the quantum computing side (curriculum currently under development), Aperta Scientia leverages IBM Qiskit and direct access to IBM Quantum processors. Together, these two domains position Aperta Scientia at the intersection of the most transformative technologies of the coming decade.
Technologies in Curriculum
Qiskit
Open-source Python SDK for quantum computing: circuit construction, simulation, transpilation, and execution on real quantum hardware.
IBM Quantum
Access to IBM quantum processors (Eagle, Heron, Condor) and the IBM Quantum Network for real-hardware experimentation.
Granite
AS300IBM's family of open-source enterprise LLMs, optimised for instruction-following, code generation, and enterprise safety requirements.
watsonx
AS300IBM's enterprise AI platform covering model training and inference (watsonx.ai), data fabric (watsonx.data), and AI governance (watsonx.governance).
About the Partnership
IBM’s partnership with Aperta Scientia spans two major complementary technology domains:
- Sovereign Enterprise AI: Integration of Granite open models and the watsonx platform within the AS300 AI Platform Engineer curriculum.
- Quantum Computing: Hands-on exploration of the world-leading Qiskit framework and IBM Quantum processor ecosystem.
This learning model is built on a shared principle: enduring engineering skills are developed on open, inspectable, and long-term technologies, free from closed proprietary black boxes.
Qiskit
Qiskit is the world’s standard open-source Python SDK for quantum computing and algorithmic workflows.
Key Pillars & Capabilities
- Circuit & Gate Model: High-level quantum circuit composition with direct control over qubits and logic gates.
- Qiskit Runtime Primitives: Unified execution abstraction using
Sampler(probability distributions) andEstimator(expectation values). - Simulation & Ecosystem Modules:
